Life is what happens to you when you are busy making other plans. John Lennon
Ugh! My apologies for not updating sooner this last month has been an absolute whirlwind and I am still trying to put my feet on the ground. The last time I sat at this keyboard to type was twenty-seven days ago. It was a Friday afternoon and I had just finished work at the restaurant. Settling in at the local Starbucks, I took a moment to enjoy the view of the other Starbucks across the street, and then pulled out my laptop to start writing.
I was half-way through a cup of dark roast and the final dialogue on the dinner table scene between myself, Chord, my mom and dad, when out of the blue Chord (in real life) texted me. Hey! I am driving in to Vancouver. Any chance you are free for dinner tonight? One cab ride, two frantic glasses of red wine and forty-five minutes later, he arrived on my doorstep.
Like the tornado that leveled poor Meg s house in the 1996 block-buster hit film Twister, Chord struck without warning. Overnight, he had gone from a character on my website to an actual human being living inside my apartment. Last Friday night at the bar, I ran in to my good friend Marcos who stopped me to say Fox! When are you going to write the next post? I want to know what happens! With Chord standing beside me, I introduced the two of them, and said Forget part five, the good stuff doesn t come in till part twenty-six. It is an odd feeling when non and fiction meet and this month I feel like my life has become the hyphen.
Chord is scheduled to drive out of town next week, and rest assured I will return to A Boy of Good Breeding just as soon as the dust settles. For now, however, I am having trouble scraping up prose from the past when at present, inspiration has his clothes lying all over my living room floor. I look forward to the future, when I will tell you about how I had to kick Chord out of my apartment last week and why I think Meryl Streep is punishing me for having gay sex. Life already writes itself, it is just too bad it cannot save itself as a word file and publish automatically to my site.
Well, I must be off for now. But first an announcement from myself. For those of you who have been following Rugged Fox, you know very well this site doesn t get updated as much as it should. If you would like me to notify you via email each time I post, please send your email address to rugged.fox@gmail.com. I will be happy to send you a link to each new post I write.

Kicked out?! Holy smokes we need an update session : ) x
Dying for the rest of this story!
Ohhhhh.....this is exciting! I'm so happy for you foxy! I love that liine about being the hyphen. That was gorgeous. I hope Meryl Streep is light on her admonishments. Alternately known as "get you some, boy."
Anxiously awaiting the updates. You shouldn't be such a cruel master.
